“As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

1 Peter 4:10

Welcome to my teaching studio Candace Santos Voice Studio

where I have the great pleasure of sharing my love of music and teaching students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced professionals.

My focus is to have your lessons be an opportunity for you to explore the joy of music, and that you will find them helpful, enjoyable and interesting. My primary teaching is private voice lessons, but I also teach piano and music theory.

I hope to help singers get to know their unique voice and its special colours. You will learn to understand important vocal techniques that will help you sing to your best vocal ability. I will teach you how to sing freely and without injury. In Candace Santos Voice Studio, I also focus on helping my students sing expressively. I help students apply all they learn about their voice and explore the beautiful art of singing. I teach my students to stay connected to their music and convey the message of the song to their audience with strong emotions. My goal is to help all students build strong musical knowledge, skills and foundation so they can explore the art of music. I help my students grow self-confidence and belief in their musical abilities.

Candace Santos Voice Studio”

is a safe environment where students feel comfortable to perform and improve on their musical talents in singing and playing piano. You will learn how to practice, work hard and explore your talents to do greater things.

“Candace is a great teacher. Over the past lessons she has been giving me, I have been improving a lot. We do warm ups and vocal exercises, then we go to a song. Each song that she has chosen for me are songs that I enjoy singing. Overall, Candace is a wonderful teacher and I enjoy being in each of her lessons.”

“I started taking lessons with Candace some time in 2014 to improve my singing techniques. During this time, I have learned so much from her! I used to be an Alto singer in my choir and after a while, Candace thought it would be better that I sing as a Soprano instead, and I found it so much easier to handle. During the last 7/8 years, I learned the differences between the chest voice, mask voice, and head voice. I learned legato, staccato and vibrato singing. I learned how to have stronger diaphragm support in order to release and project my voice. Now, I also understand the technique of forward placement in order to sing stronger. In the past, I had no idea about the terms: “solfege, interval and articulation on pitch, arpeggio exercise, mezza di voce exercise” but I do understand them now and the purpose of them.

Candace is always patient, supportive, energetic and fun. I am so glad that God sent her to me and I look forward to her lessons all the time. Thanks, Candace.”

“Candace has been my daughter’s vocal coach for over three years. She not only has the experience, but also has the qualifications and education that make her a very good music teacher. She identifies the songs that are perfect for my daughter. She has helped and guided my daughter on how to succeed in performances. Also, due to my daughter’s training with Candace, my child passed the audition and was admitted to the top musical arts program in Mississauga. Thank you, Candace!”

“It’s almost a year since I was referred to Candace Santos for my daughter Eiram’s voice lesson. Candace is a wonderful vocal instructor. She is very talented, supportive, jolly and very patient. She teaches very well, she makes sure that her students stay focused, stays on track and continues to work on areas that need to improve. For the record, Candace is her first vocal teacher. Now, my daughter sings beautifully with confidence and her voice definitely sounds amazing. I am very grateful that I found Candace. The best teacher you could ever have.”

“Candace is the most wonderful teacher.  Candace truly has a gift for singing and teaching .  She has a true passion and love for her students.  Candace is incredibly kind, gentle, inspiring and motivating. Our daughter has learned so much from her over the years.  She always looks forward to her lessons and even when she is down, just being around Candace cheers her up.  We have watched/heard our daughter’s voice develop so much and be consistently motivated to work on her singing thanks to Candace.”

“Candace’s lessons can be described in one word: exceptional! She goes above and beyond what is expected from a music teacher. Candace began with me when I was 26 and tone deaf. Through her fun warm-ups, she has trained me to sing using my “head voice,” “mid range” and “chest voice.” While she uses musical terminology to raise exposure, she will also explain it in ways I can understand. For example, she will use the word crescendo to mean hold a note for longer, but she will explain it by saying I have to make the note sound less airy, and she always instructs me on how to sing that note by leading with her voice, because she knows that’s what I need to be able to hear it.

What I admire most about learning with Candace is her patience with me as I go from singing alongside the singer to singing karaoke. She is meticulous about every note and pitch to ensure excellence and you can always expect no less than that when learning with Candace! She has been instrumental in my desire and excitement for music as she always ensures my voice is heard; literally, but figuratively as well because she always takes my song requests into consideration, even though her choices are spot on to what I end up being good at and loving as well! I highly recommend Candace as a music teacher, her pure talent provides her the ability to focus on building a strong foundation for you!”
